ſן and ſɭп́ are sometimes pronounced ſɭ̀ (/q/), however ſɭɘ is the same.

No consonants are voiced. No vowels are rounded.

There are no dipthongs. ꞁȷ̀ᴜꞇ is /a.i/ or /a.e/ in an open syllable, ꞁȷ̀ꞇᴜ is /i.a/ or /e.a/ after two syllables.

ꞁȷ̀ꞇ is /e/ after two syllables. Else, it is /i/.

Nasal vowels can be pronounced as creaky.

ꞁȷ̀ɜⅎ sometimes shifts to ꞁȷ̀wⅎ and as a result ꞁȷ̀эⅎ shifts to ꞁȷ̀ɜⅎ.

Nasals are often pronouced with as a click medially so ı],ᴜ ſ͕ɭᴜ is pronounced ı],ᴜ ȏſ͕ɭᴜ. This may be actually a result of Lushootseed or Khmer influence. Lushootseed has no nasals which became voiced consonants and Iikrhian nasals arent voiced so they became prenasalized voiceless plossives and later clicks. In the past, Khmer spoken by me had blocky sounding nasals where the nose would make a plosive like sound like |o̊ɭʃc̗őɜ̥ɿ̥| become |‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎o͗}ʃɜʌ|. Also Khmer has implosives which couldve influenced the development of clicks. Sometimes in Iikrhian a word that ends in a plosive next to on beginning with a nasal becomes a click ſȷɜƽ ŋᷠɜ ɭʃᴜ ſןɹ j͑ʃᴜꞇ ſȷɜ becomes ſȷɜƽ ȏŋᷠɜ ɭʃᴜ ſןɹ j͑ʃᴜꞇ.

Sound Changes

Words were often shortened in the past and still are now. The loanword Akuɾuɳu > ꞁȷ̀ᴜ ſɭˬɜȝ 'Lemon curd' and ꞁȷ̀ɜ ɽ͑ʃ'ᴜ > ꞁȷ̀ɜƴ 'Ground'. This is often random although long words (Three or more syllables) and loanwords are more often shortened. Old sound changes may be renewed into new words like ɽ͑ʃ'ᴜ j͑ʃꞇc̗ ɭʃᴜ > ɽ͑ʃ'ᴜ j͑ʃɔⅎƽ.

Allophonic Variation

ſןw ſȷɹ

ſɭ̀w ³]ɹ

j͑ʃɔ ſȷэⅎ

j͑ʃɔ ³]эн

Some vowels are pronounced with an ɽ͑ʃ' at the end as the sound closes.

Sounds historically pronounced with two consonants are retained in compounds or names.
